Peirce College Executive Leadership Breakfast

Sponsorship Opportunities

    Ticket Information

Peirce College’s Executive Leadership Breakfast takes place on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 9 a.m., and will be held virtually.

The decision to move the breakfast to an online event was based on an ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of our sponsors, panelists and guests, and to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

We look forward to bringing together key stakeholders concerned about access, affordability, and the nexus between higher education and workforce training on March 31. Education helps open the door to opportunity, and helps people transform their lives.

As the region soldiers through the winter and charges into recovery, it is more critical than ever that adults returning to college or seeking some post-secondary training understand the pathway of that education to a better career.

Our panel discussion, moderated by Sheila Ireland, the PA Department of Labor and Industry's Deputy Secretary of Workforce Development, will focus on how to best leverage higher education and market-driven training and development to better prepare Philadelphia’s workforce and accelerate economic mobility in the City. Confirmed panelists include:

    • Lisa Gauthier, Council Member and Former Mayor of East Palo Alto, Ca., and Working Scholars Graduate
    • Robert F. Smith, Vice President of Community Impact at Comcast
    • Tammy Pollard, Director, Corporate Learning and Organizational Development at AmeriHealth Caritas
    • Jeff Hornstein, Executive Director, The Economy League of Greater Philadelphia

Peirce College is also honored to present two extraordinary people with the inaugural Trailblazers in Transformation Award, which recognizes students and alumni who embody the College’s spirit of innovation through their academic, professional, and personal achievements. Our inaugural recipients of the award are:

Diana Kirkland ’14, ’16: Diana is a U.S. Navy veteran who overcame addiction and other challenges to advance her career and her life. She earned both her associate and bachelor’s degrees in Paralegal Studies from Peirce College as a proud mother of six. Today, Diana serves as a Legal Administrative Specialist with the regional office of the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs in Philadelphia, where she helps veterans and their family members access and understand their veteran benefits. She is also the proud grandmother of six grandchildren.

Josh Slocum ’20: Josh is a Cloud Desk Agent for Comcast, where he helps small and midsize companies with software solutions. He is a 2020 graduate of Peirce's Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree program. Josh’s main inspiration for managing a full time career while advancing his education is to keep a promise he made to his parents, and to remain focused on becoming a great leader.
