Admissions Advisor

FUNCTIONS:

  • Promptly responds to all new inquiries and maintains consistent communication with all leads throughout the admissions process.
  • Advises prospective students about the admissions process. Supports and guides them with identifying educational goals, developing educational plans, receiving credit for prior learning (to include work experience and other forms of non-traditional learning), evaluating transfer credits and transcripts, and providing information and updates on financial aid, scholarships, and tuition assistance.
  • Processes first term course registrations and ensures students are made “current” by securing finances/payments with proper documentation.
  • Provides superior customer service to students through the entire admission process.
  • Regularly attends and participates in off campus recruiting functions and events.
  • Collaborates with various College departments and encourages teamwork among all staff members.
  • Conducts information sessions, webinars, and open houses while promoting the College’s programs.
  • Assists new students with additional questions about advising, financial aid, billing, and other student services such as tutoring, career advising, counseling, and the library.
  • Represents the Admissions team on various committees throughout the College and contributes to the respective committees’ overall goals and objectives.

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a higher education admissions setting preferred.
  • Recruitment and sales skills combined with a strong work ethic and a goal-oriented and self-motivated approach toward achieving consistent results.
  • Familiarity with the Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) application and  process as well as knowledge of articulations agreements, corporate partnerships, scholarships, grants, and military benefits, as appropriate.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Must be tactful and diplomatic in handling difficult communications with internal and external clients.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new systems and tasks related to the Admissions department.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating environment and current Microsoft Office Suite products, and Google.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management software (CRM) required, Salesforce a plus, along with knowledge of a Student Information System (SIS), Jenzabar a plus, and the ability to learn and use technologically current applications and other software.

DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO:

  • Work independently and as part of a team in order to meet deadlines and/or goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Listen carefully, to interpret accurately, and to respond to a high volume of requests.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality with all aspects of the job duties.

STATUS:

Regular Full-Time/Exempt – Position will work remotely until further notice.

HOURS:

Day, evening, and weekend responsibilities, as required.
